The
New First Aid/CPR/AED Program was released March 31, 2006. This is the first of the American Red Cross Lay Responder First Aid and CPR/AED programs that will include the latest science and educational innovations.
All currently authorized First Aid/CPR/AED, Workplace Training: Standard First Aid, Sport Safety Training and First Aid-Responding to Emergencies instructors
MUST COMPLETE AN UPDATE to the new Lay Responder First Aid & CPR/AED program. In addition, Emergency Response, Lifeguarding and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer instructors who wish to teach courses in the lay responder programs, should complete the update before using the new materials.
Group Orientations will be conducted at the chapter for all instructors whose home chapter/unit of authorization is Arlington. The registration fee is $55 and includes all needed material. Students must pre-register and payment must be made upon registration.
If you are unable to attend, you may transfer to another session ONE TIME - NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED.
Please keep these deadlines in mind:
- September 30, 2006 - the last day instructors can use the existing, basic-level First Aid/CPR/AED and Community First Aid and Safety courses and materials.
- October 31, 2006 - The last day instructors can teach from the First Aid-Responding to Emergencies course or materials
- December 31, 2006 - The deadline for all instructors and instructor trainers to update their authorizations.
NOTE: Course materials may not be available until the end of the calendar year. Once they are depleted, they will not be reprinted. Begin to transition to the new material as soon as possible.
